On frogs and transformative encounters

Sermon given August 20, 2017 at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church. You can find the lectionary readings for the day here.

Several years ago, I went through a period of intense transformation in my life, in many areas. This sermon delves into the awkwardness that often accompanies God’s work of transformation in us. (The recording starts a couple of sentences in, as I’m talking about the transformations I was going through.)

“Be patient with everyone, but above all with yourself. . . . There is no better means of attaining to the spiritual life than by continually beginning again.” -St. Francis de Sales
